Creating Pathways to Success: Education & Career Life
Planning Program, K-12
In the spring of 2013, the Ministry released the widely anticipated Creating Pathways to Success: An Education and Career/Life Planning Program, K-12. This program is designed to shine an intentional
spotlight on the importance of career development from an early age through an inquiry framework. Students are encouraged and guided through an inquiry process that encourages them to reflect on the following questions: Who Am I? What Are My Opportunities? Who Do I Want to Become? What Is My Plan for Achieving My Goals? This framework allows individuals to reflect on who they are
(skills, interests, personality, passions) in curricular learning and extra-curricular activities, and utilize what they learn to plan for, and make decisions that will allow for successful transitions through their education and career/life journey.
Students in Grades 7 -12 will capture this learning in a web-based “Individual Pathways Plan (IPP)” through the myBlueprint program. Portfolios and IPP’s will be shared with peers, teachers, family members and significant adults at least two times during the school year.
We are looking forward to an amazing year!
Sincerely,
Tracie Lambers
